Originally from England, Karen has dedicated herself to the practice, study and teaching of yoga since discovering its joys and benefits over a period of 16 years. She trained in the disciplines of Iyengar, Ashtanga and Hatha with Hart Lazer, Kevin Elander and Jeff Mah. Additionally, she has taken a variety of workshops with nationally and internationally renowned teachers such as Margot Kitchen, Judith Lasater, Tiffany Cruikshank and Tim Miller.
In her own practice, Karen combines elements of these various yoga styles into an ever-evolving balance between free-flowing movement and subtle, yet in-depth, exploration, in order to build strength and stamina while still observing the breath and the challenging influence of the fluctuating mind. In her classes, expect a dynamic and inspiring alignment-based flow, with her signature levity and familiarity.
As both a student and teacher, Karen strives to cultivate joy and balance through mindful living, and hopes to encourage the same in her students. Love of yoga and lessons learned studying and teaching have inspired her in every aspect of her daily life. In addition to running her own graphic design business, her outside interests include gardening, wining and dining, travel, cycling and the great outdoors.
